My ‘Roe Review’ – What’s the Deal with all the Leggings?
Let’s talk LuLaRoe. Have you heard of it?
If you’re a mom or even small business woman who rocks a mom-bun or top knot, while tip-toeing around land mines of legos, just to blindly apply a bit of mascara before running out the door, then your answer is most likely, “Yes”.
Not to say LuLaRoe is just for moms, but in my humble opinion – it is perfect for mothers who need a bit of style while maintaining that beautiful thing called comfortability. Read on as I take you through the ups and ups (because, spoil-alert) there are no downs, to the bandwagon that is LuLaRoe. This fun pattern, classy and sassy apparel line is taking this generation by storm, one pair of leggings at a time.
First, let me explain a little bit more about the business concept of LuLaRoe, and why it differs from buying your clothes from say, Target. (Of note: I love Target and all of their hippie and free-spirit clearance threads, but that is a soap box for another day.)
LuLaRoe is a clothing line dedicated to empowering women through beautiful clothes in casual yet sophisticated styles whilst maintaining that timeless sense of modesty.
Now, pair that philosophy with adorable patterns, one of a kind designs, and explicit colors fit for any woman’s taste, at any age.
Straight from the LuLaRoe site:
“LuLaRoe exists to provide an opportunity for people to create freedom by selling comfortable, affordable, stylish clothing, and offering its consultants the independence to set their own pace and schedule. This creates the time to spend with those closest to them..”
What they’re referring to as “selling” is a network-marketing based system. Think Pampered Chef parties and pop-ups, but with women drinking wine and basically dressing up whilst reminiscing on their scantily dressed mini-skirt wearing days of the past.
By going the LuLaRoe route for wardrobe shopping in leu your next family get-together or girls night-out, you’re supporting another woman and her family vice big-time multi-million dollar CEOs of retail and clothing corporations. Women supporting women. Girl Power. Winning.
Now let’s talk actual ‘thread count’, or what I like to refer to as the LuLaRoe Paradox. This is an apparent unexplained phenomenon that gives these one-of-a-kind clothes a textural feel like no other.
Often called “butter leggings” around the play-dates and stroller walks. These leggings are so soft and comfortable, they had every mom trading in her yoga pants for a pair.
I believe it was the leggings that really put LuLaRoe softness on the map. Since, let’s face it, why would you willingly wear pants if you could wear adorable and society-acceptable leggings instead? This incomparable attribute of LuLaRoe ‘thread count’ goes beyond their leggings by the way. We’re talking dresses, blouses, T’s and skirts too. I know, it just keeps getting better, like I said it would.
What is it with all the designs and colors? Sure, some prints are a little questionable. The idea of sporting pizza slices may be a new look for you. However, this is a characteristic that continues to make LuLaRoe so great! There is literally a print for everyone.
Whether you’re a fan of simple solids and stripes, or want to be a little daring with some donuts on your bottom, their graphic design department has you covered. Even better – there a limited number of each print made and thus circulated at any given time. In cues the originality and individuality factor.
Lastly, let’s talk functionality and practicality. This includes the always prudent price tag. Though many may find LuLaRoe to be a bit more pricey compared to similar apparel found at a department store; one must consider all the attributing factors:
- You’re supporting a “small business”
- You’re getting a product that is far more original and unique due to Production Restrictions.
- The quality of the fabric, design, and piece is overall far greater – resulting in a product that will last you longer. Quality of quantity.
- They tend to fit everyone, regardless of size, age, or style – flawlessly.
In conclusion, whether you’re in the mood to dress up or dress down, bold or basic, cool or casual; there is surely a piece of LuLaRoe for you. My personal favorites discovered over the course of this review are the Julia; a lightweight, form-fitting knee length dress ideal for a snug baby bump show-off, the Maxi skirt; which (bonus-alert) can be worn at the hips, waistline or as a strapless dress, and of course the fashionably famous busy mom-approved Leggings.
I will gladly skimp on the shopping days at the mall, to later splurge with a local LuLaRoe pop-up any day.
Don’t have a LuLaRoe Consultant or Boss Babe near you? Don’t worry – there are LuLaRoe Facebook groups for days! Of which, I’m sharing one of my favorite Consultants with you at the end of this article. Your wallet will not thank me later.
I hope this review gives a bit of much needed clarity to the community that is: fashionable leggings and dresses for everyone – LuLaRoe. If you should have any questions or comments of your own LuLaRoe experience or venture, comment below or shoot me an email.
